Bio
I am a British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) registered acupuncturist and founder of AcuZen Acupuncture Clinic in Hoole, Chester, where I provide personalised, evidence-informed traditional acupuncture for adults, children and families. Before moving to the United Kingdom, I trained and worked as a medical doctor specialising in Endocrinology in Brazil, gaining valuable clinical experience within paediatric hospital and clinic settings. My medical background provides me with a strong understanding of child development, endocrine disorders and conventional healthcare, which complements my holistic approach to acupuncture. Since relocating to the UK, I have dedicated my professional career exclusively to the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. After graduating with Distinction as a Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture (Lic.Ac.) from The Acupuncture Academy, I continued my postgraduate training with a specialist qualification in paediatric acupuncture under Rebecca Avern at the TCM Academy. I am now proud to be a member of the Hub of Paediatric Acupuncture (HOPA), reflecting my commitment to providing safe, gentle and effective treatment for babies, children and adolescents. I practise Traditional Chinese Medicine with a particular emphasis on Five Element acupuncture, recognising that every child is unique and that treatment should address not only physical symptoms but also emotional wellbeing, constitutional health and developmental stage. I combine the wisdom of classical Chinese medicine with modern evidence-informed practice, working alongside families and other healthcare professionals where appropriate. My paediatric treatments are carefully tailored to each child's age and individual needs and may include a range of gentle, non-invasive techniques such as Shonishin (Japanese paediatric acupuncture), paediatric tui na, laser acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, gua sha and cupping, ensuring treatment is both comfortable and child-friendly. I believe that the best healthcare combines listening, clinical expertise and individualised treatment. I aim to empower children and adults alike to achieve lasting wellbeing using the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, informed by both my medical background and advanced acupuncture training.
